QUEM PODE CANDIDATAR-SE? 

O prémio é dirigido a docentes de língua portuguesa a lecionar em instituições de ensino básico, secundário e superior por todo o Reino Unido e Ilhas do Canal. 

COMO CANDIDATAR-SE? 

As candidaturas devem ser submetidas através de formulário eletrónico em nome próprio ou por outrem até ao dia 30 de junho de 2026. 

A candidatura inclui a cedência de dados pessoais de identificação, o cargo ocupado, afiliação institucional, texto de apresentação da proposta com dados que evidenciem o desempenho excecional. Inclui ainda um testemunho de um superior hierárquico. 

JÚRI 

O júri é formado por um grupo idóneo de profissionais da língua portuguesa, a convidar a cada ano, que terá em consideração, entre outros aspetos: 

• a excelência da prática docente, incluindo a inovação dos métodos e técnicas de ensino, a reformulação curricular,
• o contributo para a investigação, a divulgação e valorização da aprendizagem da língua, o impacto comunitário e a transdisciplinaridade. 
• a introdução, consolidação ou alargamento da oferta do ensino da língua portuguesa nas instituições britânicas. 
• iniciativas de promoção do gosto pela aprendizagem da língua portuguesa. 

PRÉMIO 

A cerimónia de prémios terá lugar na Embaixada de Portugal no dia 10 de julho de 2026. Além do reconhecimento simbólico de excelência no ensino, haverá um prémio monetário no valor de 750 GBP, oferecido pelo Banco Santander, uma anuidade da TROPO UK, uma placa comemorativa e um certificado.

 IMPORTANT DATES 

Teachers must submit their application form by the 30th of June 2026. 

The award ceremony will be held on the 10th of July 2026 at the Embassy of Portugal. 

WHO CAN APPLY? 

The award is designed for teachers who are based in the United Kingdom and Channel Islands, teaching Portuguese language in schools and universities in the UK and CI. 

HOW TO APPLY? 

Applications must be submitted by teachers themselves or by someone in their stead through an online application form by the 30th of June 2026. 

Applications include the submission of data about personal identification, occupation, institutional affiliation, and a text with the proposal, evidencing excellent practice. A testimonial from a superior member of staff will be required. 

THE JURY

The jury is made of experienced Portuguese language practitioners, invited each year by the organisers, who will consider the following criteria: 

• excellent Portuguese teaching practices, including innovative language teaching methods and cross curricular activities,
• contributes to research, language promotion, impact and transdisciplinary practices. 
• the successful introduction or increase of Portuguese teaching and learning at a UK institution (e.g., first foreign language or new language); 
• the initiatives to promote enjoyment for learning Portuguese. 

AWARD 

The awards ceremony will take place at the Portuguese Embassy on 10th July 2026. In addition to symbolic recognition for excellence in teaching, there will be a monetary prize of 750 EUR offered by Santander, a one-year TROPO UK membership, a trophy and a certificate.
